Philippines Independence Lawn Program
June 10 (Saturday, 2-4 PM @ House of Pacific Relations International Cottages Lawn)
Come to the HPR International Cottages Lawn area near the HOP cottage. Enjoy cultural presentations, dancing, and more. Food and craft vendors will be available from 10 AM-4 PM. Get there early as parking at Balboa Park fills up fast. No canopies allowed. Lawn chairs, banigs, and blankets welcomed.
Philippines Independence Flag Raising
June 12 (Monday, 3-6 PM @ HOP cottage)
Highlight of the program is the raising of the Philippine Flag at 4:47 PM as it was first unfurled on June 12, 1898, after Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo proudly declared Philippine Independence from Spain. This event is in collaboration with the Cavite Association of San Diego County.
